Annual Christmas Market Tour in Shkodër – A Magical Holiday Tradition

Every year, Shkodër transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland, and our Annual Christmas Market Tour has become one of the city’s most beloved holiday experiences. From early December until Christmas Eve, the historic heart of Shkodër comes alive with glowing lights, festive music, and the irresistible aroma of seasonal treats.

Join us each year for a joyful evening celebration where culture, tradition, and holiday spirit come together. Our 5-hour guided tour begins at 18:00 and invites you to explore Shkodër’s charming old town, discover its handcrafted treasures, and taste the warm flavors of the season.

Guests enjoy a cozy start with a hot chocolate or coffee, followed by a guided walk through the lively Christmas Market filled with artisanal crafts, ornaments, cheeses, sweets, and local specialties.

Meet at your hotel lobby. Your local guide will greet you, confirm the evening’s plan, and hand out a small map or contact card. Gentle stroll through central Shkodër. Guide points out Kole Idromeno Street, key landmarks, and festive highlights while sharing quick cultural tips.

Warm up with a drink in a local café. Time to relax, ask questions, and get recommendations from your guide. Walk through the market stalls: handmade ornaments, crafts, local cheeses and sweets. Guide explains traditions, points out must-see stalls, and introduces Venetian-era influences and local Christmas customs.

Mulled wine / rakia tasting and live music! Festive Albanian dinner at a traditional restaurant

Pause at a festive spot to sip mulled wine (or rakia) while enjoying carolers or street musicians. Short storytelling by your guide about local holiday folklore. Three-course-style dinner with local specialties (byrek, grilled lamb, pispili, seasonal sides) and holiday drinks or Albanian wine. Dietary needs accommodated on request. Market lights at their most magical — great photo opportunities and last-minute shopping. Guide helps negotiate or recommend authentic souvenirs.
